Micellar cleansing waters have mostly been adapted for sensitive skin and have been formulated with mild and non-irritating surfactants, suitable thanks to their gentleness.
Stubborn make-up is effectively removed with one sweep of a cotton pad and with no harsh chemicals or detergents to irritate and inflame skin - all this cleanser contains are tiny micelles (microscopic oil spheres) that dissolve impurities without stripping the skin - even the most troublesome complexions are left feeling soft, nourished and hydrated. It is that simple!
There are big advantages to removing your make-up this way. The use of cotton pads plays a major role in why they are so effective at removing makeup. Cotton is hydrophilic, and when you pour the micellar solution on the cotton pad, the hydrophilic heads are attracted to the cotton, leaving the hydrophobic tails sticking up to trap oil, wax based substances and dirt, like makeup and sebum. When applied to skin, micellar water and cotton pads cleanse the skin by acting like a magnet, attracting and entrapping impurities without harsh rubbing or scraping.

---When would you use Micellar Water?
Micellar Water can be used in place of your cleanser and toner, although we think a spritz of a light product like my Tea Tree and Vinegar Facial Toner can be a great addition, especially on hot, humid days when you’re feeling sticky. Use it for touching up mascara mishaps and for cleaning your face after being out and about on your bike, or a long car ride or anywhere you want to get your face clean when there’s no water around. We also like it on those mornings when we need to rush out the door after a late night.

Removing Eye Make-up – Apply Micellar Water to cotton pad. Hold pad over closed eyes for 3-5 seconds and wipe gently. Avoid harsh rubbing and repeat if necessary. Skin cleanser and make-up remover – Apply Micellar Water to cotton pad. Wipe over entire face to remove make-up and dirt. Avoid harsh rubbing. No need to rinse.
